Al-Masad المسد

Al-Masad, surah 111 of the Qur'an, Meccan, 5 verses.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ ﴿1﴾

   (1) May the hands of Abū Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he.[2008]

2. مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ ﴿2﴾

   (2) His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.

3. سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ﴿3﴾

   (3) He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame

4. وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ ﴿4﴾

   (4) And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood.[2009]

5. فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ ﴿5﴾

   (5) Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.
